Muntjac Enduro 16-11-14

Conditions were perfect for the last round of the Edmondson Racing British Enduro Championship which was organised by the Diss Motor Cycle Club in the Thetford Forest. This event is aptly named the Muntjac Enduro 2014 and was sponsored jointly by G H Motorcycles and G & B Finch Aggregates. There was a very large entry of nearly 200 riders amongst them were the top British including the 2014 British Champion Tom Sagar, Danny McCanney and Steve Holcombe. In the Championship Class McCanney won with Holcombe 2nd while Sagar had to settle for 7th place. Locally all eyes were on Sudbury members Chris Hockey British 250cc Champion in 1999 and nine times winner of the Eastern Centre Enduro Championship and fellow club member Jamie Roper ...

News ItemSUDBURY MOTOR CYCLE CLUB PRESS REPORT 09-11-14 Roger ChaplinIt is a tale of two Sundays, because this coming Sunday it is the final round of the Edmondson Racing ACU British Enduro Championship which is being organised by the Diss Motor Cycle Club and is named the G H Motorcycles Muntjac Enduro. The event is being staged in the Thetford Forest near Santon and starts at 9am. Riders from all over Great Britain will be taking part including the British Champion Tom Sagar from Wales and 22 Sudbury Motor Cycle Club members will be amongst the 200 competitors. Last Sunday Sudbury’s President Roger Chaplin was re-elected as one of the Eastern Centre ACU Vice Presidents a positions he has held since 1977. Weston Beach Race 2014

SUDBURY MOTOR CYCLE CLUB PRESS REPORT 19-10-14 Western Beach RaceA large contingent of motor cycle off road riders from Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk makes the annual pilgrimage to the Weston Beach Race which has been held at Weston Super Mare for over thirty years including several from the Sudbury Motor Cycle Club. In the Solo Class there was high hopes for Jamie Roper who finished 13th in 2013 and 10th in 2012 however it was not his year having to start last he hauled himself through the large entry up to 20th but with twenty minutes to go his machine started playing up however managing 68th with his cousin Craig being the best Sudbury member with 40th place. Glenn Walsh making his debut at this event was second best Sudbury rider finishing 52nd while his Two Man riding partner secured 274th. In the Solo over 40s Class Nick Ames finished a creditable 5th with Andy Quorn 23rd, Graham Mays 24th and Simon Thake 31st. ...

Near disaster was turned to triumph for Sudbury members Glenn Walsh and Ian Tutton in the Expert Class at round 4 of the Dave Barkshire Two Man Championship held last Sunday at Kenton by the Stowmarket Motor Cycle Club. Walsh had sold his bike and was going to ride his father’s bike and after preparing it on the Saturday everything was working well but on the Sunday at the event the bike would not start so it looked like the pairing were out of the competition and although they had a 16 point lead in the Contest they could fall back to second place if their rivals won on the day. Upon checking the rules of the competition they found they both can ride sharing the one bike, however they must changeover every 30 minutes but would lose valuable minutes re-fuelling the machine.
