Stephen Green SUDBURY MOTOR CYCLE CLUB PRESS REPORT 31-07-2016 Lewis Hamilton has had a great July in the Motor Racing sport however whatever Lewis can do Stephen Green of Great Cornard can do just as well in the Motor Cycle Sport. Green has just won his third Title in the Grass Track sport by winning ACU Eastern 500cc Upright Grass Track Championship at Iken near Woodbridge organised by G W Racing, previous weekend he won the ACU South Eastern 500cc Upright Grass Track Championship and of course previous to that the British 500cc Upright Grass Track Championship. He has become the Sudbury Motor Cycle Club’s most successful Grass Track rider since Tom Smith in the early 1960s and the season is not over yet so could there be more Titles to win....

Around 30 riders from East Anglia made the long trek to Wales to compete in the popular Welsh Two Day Enduro and most were successful. The Sudbury Motor Cycle Club members had great success with Jack Nicolaou finishing 3rd in the Clubman E2 Class and he puts this down to the training he had in Wales a few weeks ago which was sponsored by the Dave Roper Memorial Fund. Sudbury Club Chairman Gavin Hockey was well in contention for a win in the Classic ClubmanJack Nicolaou Class but had to settle for 4th place with Gary Drage 9th. Longs, bogs, woodland and cambered fields were the order of the day at the 4thround of the G H Motorcycles/Husqvarna/ACU Eastern Enduro Championship staged by the Sudbury Motor Cycle Club at Little Hadham Herts. With the rain days before the event and the sunshine on the day made the conditions perfect for the well laid out course. It was Chris Hockey (Sudbury) who set the best times in the Championship Class two Special Tests some 11 seconds faster than Jamie Roper (Sudbury) who fell off on the first test and a further 17 seconds faster than Jason Morland (Halstead) who fell off on the second test. Round 4 of the G H Motorcycles/Husqvarna/ACU Eastern Enduro Championship takes place on Sunday 19th June at Home Farm Little Hadham Herts start 10am and is organised by the Sudbury Motor Cycle Club. The Contest is over 5 rounds with the rider’s best scores from 4 rounds counting. The Contest is hotting up and there is everything to ride for so Hadham is not a round to miss. Jamie Roper’s lead in the Championship Class has been reduced to six points over Jason Morland and Chris Hockey while further down the Standings Brendon Mayers, Craig Roper and Tom Braddock are still in contention. Foxborough H&H 8-5-16

Round 3 of the G H Motorcycles/Husqvarna/ACU Eastern Enduro Championship proved to be a scorcher in racing and weather with temperatures up to 25C. The organisers Sudbury Motor Cycle Club laid on a very long lap at their Foxborough Quarry Sible Hedingham Essex venue to cater for the whole entry competing altogether in the three hour marathon.
